NEWEST EAGLES
Two new Eagle Scouts from Chadds Ford Troop 31. An Eagle Court of Honor was held for two new Eagle
Scouts, Jared LaFave and Timothy Necarsulmer, both of Kennett Square, with Troop 31.
Jared LaFave, the son of Jill and Craig LaFave, joined Tiger Scouts as a kindergartner in Bear, Del. He
continued on into Cub Scouts in Delaware and after moving to Kennett Square, completed his time as a

RECRUITMENT
At several Eagle Boards of Review I have heard the Eagle candidate say that their friends who had dropped
out of scouts now wish they continued and were going to make Eagle. I would like to strongly encourage
you to welcome any of your friends who, even if older, are interested in scouting. The older boys may have
a stronger interest than you realize, but are a bit reticent to take the first step to become scouts again or
start from scratch. You can be instrumental in encouraging them to give it another try. Please, when you
hear boys mention that they wish they had stayed in or had started, let them know it is not too late. Bring
them to a meeting-and earn yourself a recruitment badge. All of our patrols have room for at least one
more scout. Each patrol should make it a goal to recruit one new scout. Remember- the scout is the best
recruiter. No adult can do it like a peer can.
EAGLE PROJECTS
I have talked to the business manager for Pennsbury Township and she has informed me of the following
Eagle Projects. Some of these may need to be combined with others to make a project big enough in
scope to qualify. I will be happy to go over it with you. See me if your interested and we will set up a time
to meet with Township people and discuss the projects. Meanwhile, here is a brief synopsis of some of
their ideas: * A large sign for the entrance to the Township property * Nighttime lighting for their walkway
entrance to the building. * Cleanup of pond area with a path made around it. * Sign for entrance to the
building * Display case for artifacts * Display base/case for a large Eagle emblem they have. The township
people seem very willing to help us with these projects and I do not anticipate any of the 'delays' that we sometimes
experience with other government groups. This looks like at least 3 projects so, if you are a Life Scout or anticipate being
one within the next six months, and would be interested in any of these projects, please let me know.
